i don't know if my brain is mad at me for that beer i drank earlier, but it was determined to keep me from any proper sleep tonight.
i never really quite got into a good sleep rhythm all night. then when my clock said 5:16*, it decided to pounce.
i tried to get comfy and fall back asleep, but my brain was having none of that. first the panic.
then the guilt.
then the cacophony.
then it started composing this post while i tried in vain to go back to sleep.
finally, i got up when my clock said 6:23.*
i glanced in the kitchen and wondered why there were sparkly green stars all over the ceiling. it took me way too long to realize it was the light from the coffee maker reflecting off the giant shiny ductwork spider on the ceiling.
maybe my brain just wanted a hazy trippy day.
Yay, bloggy goodness. :) Hope you keep it up, and enjoy!
ReplyDelete5? 5 is the devil.
ReplyDeleteI'm sorry your alarm clock and your brain are against you, but your coffee maker and your ceiling sound awesome.
thanks for reading!!
ReplyDelete5 is the devil. it is vexing me once again!
i tried to take a picture of green sparkly ceiling, but my camera totally freaked out about the low light, and my ability to do all that manually (or switch the camera to some sort of manual mode) is pretty much gone now. but i think i could take one of the coffee maker light (it's a clock!). it is pretty cool.
anything before 630 is evil. but i like the sound of the sparkly green kitchen!!! :)
ReplyDeletei like the illustrations... have you read hyperboleandahalf.blogspot.com? i like your kid anecdotes!
thanks! yes, i have read it, and i must admit it was a bit of an inspiration for my starting this thing. :)
ReplyDeleteThis is so fun, Season! How do you make your illustrations? Adorable. I'll be back. :)
ReplyDeletei do everything in illustrator, but a couple of things like the shoes are istockphoto vectors i had hanging out on my computer for other projects. but i think i'm going to stop being lazy and do everything myself.
